Friendship Bridge Ranks High in the new 60 Decibels MFI Social Performance Index

Linked Foundation is proud to share that Friendship Bridge, our grantee and partner of 6 years, has ranked #3 in Latin America and #16 worldwide among microfinance organizations according to the recently released MFI Index developed by 60 Decibels. The index is a new global benchmark for financial inclusion based on client interviews. Linked has supported Friendship Bridge to develop and expand its health program Salud para la Vida, which provides critical services including female cancer screenings and family planning education and access to rural Guatemalan women who otherwise lack these services. More recently, FB has begun to pilot offering mental health services in partnership with an organization Linked connected them with who participated in the first Empodera 360 cohort – Tu Consejeria.

We continue to be impressed by Friendship Bridge’s high impact programs that are improving the lives of thousands of Guatemalan women and families. The MFI Index created by 60 decibels is also an exciting new tool for MFIs and investors as we continue to learn about the nuances of impact when it comes to financial services for the poor. Bravo to both organizations for being leaders in the field!
